Princess Diana Will 'Surely' Feature At Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Wedding
The royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011 was a spectacular event. But the wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be markedly different from it.
For starters, their wedding is considerably smaller than Prince William’s one. The couple will be joined at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle; it is a smaller venue than Westminster Abbey where the older prince was joined.
Homage to Princess Diana
The royal princes have over the years found different ways to pay tribute to their mother, Princess Diana. The upcoming royal wedding seems to be another tribute to her. The engagement ring Prince Harry presented to Meghan had diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection.
Richard Fitzwilliams while speaking with Express.co.uk says that there may be even more parts of the wedding that will feature Diana.
There will undoubtedly be an aspect or aspects of the wedding service that will link with Diana, perhaps by including one of her favorite hymns, I Vow to Thee My Country which was sung at her funeral.
Prince Harry has taken Meghan to Althorp before, but another source suggests that the couple may visit Diana’s grave again before the wedding.
With less than 100 days to go before the royal wedding, Britons are being encouraged to celebrate the nuptials. Already, several towns have schedule street parties and carnivals in May to celebrate. The government has issued a statement informing citizens that they do not need any special permits to celebrate in May.
Bromley and Salford have officially announced waivers on charges for road closures. This is meant to ensure that residents are not restricted on the wedding day. Coincidentally, the FA Cup final is also taking place on the same day.
A similar gesture was made by the government in 2016 during the Queen’s 90th birthday.
