British Royals Celebrate Mother's Day By Sharing An Intimate And Heartwarming Photo Of Their Family

Date March 12, 2018

She is a monarch, but for her four children, Queen Elizabeth II is, first of all, a mother. Some say that the Queen didn’t form a strong bond with her eldest son, Prince Charles, who spent more time with his grandmother and nannies. On the other hand, Elizabeth was warmer and more caring when it came to her youngest children, Andrew and Edward.

But regardless of the relationship, it’s important not to underestimate the mother’s role in everyone’s lives. And Mothering Sunday is a perfect occasion to remind the whole world of this.

Celebrating Mother’s Day

To mark the occasion, Buckingham Palace has revealed an intimate photograph of the Queen, Prince Philip, and their four kids. The heartwarming picture was taken back in 1965, just a year after Prince Edward was born.

In the snap, all the family members are enjoying a private moment and staring at something on the ground, which has definitely caught their eye. We wonder, what might it be?

But Mothering Sunday was not the only occasion for the royals to celebrate. On March 10, Prince Edward turned 51!

We congratulate the queen’s son and wish him many more happy years to come!
