John Stamos Welcomes Son With Caitlin McHugh And Names The Newborn For His Late Father

Date April 16, 2018

Ever since he split from his first wife Rebecca Romijn in 2005, John Stamos has wanted to get married again, start a family, and welcome children. And finally, at the beginning of 2018, the Fuller House star tied the knot with his beloved Caitlin McHugh.

The two have been dating for almost 2 years when the actress revealed she was pregnant. So, without much thought, Stamos decided to propose at one of Caitlin’s favorite places – Disneyland:

I better have a ring on her finger because it’s the right thing to do, and I wanted to marry her anyway.

Now, Stamos’ biggest dream of being a dad has come true. On April 15, the star took to Instagram to announce a good news. He and Caitlin have just welcomed a baby!

And it's a boy!

The 54-year-old shared a sweet black-and-white picture of his little son lying on his chest. He also wrote an awe-inspiring caption:

From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son.

The baby was named for Stamos’ father William who passed away in 2001. Back in December, John paid a tribute to his late dad by posting a throwback picture of the two.

In the caption, he mentioned that it was unlikely he would be as good at parenting as his dad was, but he would certainly give it his all. Stamos previously told that his father was bigger than life to him, so it’s no wonder he named his firstborn for him.
