Reese Witherspoon Congratulates Octavia Spencer, Margot Robbie, And Other Actresses On Their 2018 Oscar Nominations

Date January 24, 2018

On January 23, the names of the 2018 Oscar nominees were finally announced. And to celebrate this special occasion, Reese Witherspoon paid a sweet tribute to this year's nominees via several Instagram posts. Scroll down to read her touching messages.

Oscars are considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in the entertainment industry. And this year, Los Angeles will host the anniversary, 90th Annual Academy Awards ceremony.

Reese Witherspoon knows first hand what an honor it is to be nominated for an Oscar. In 2006, her incredible performance in James Mangold's drama Walk the Line won her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Nine years later, she was nominated once more, but the golden statue went to Julianne Moore.

And even though Reese Witherspoon is not on the list of this year's nominees, she decided to mark the special occasion anyway. The 41-year-old beauty took to Instagram and congratulated her fellow colleagues with a sweet post.

The Big Little Lies star posted a short video listing some of the 2018 Oscar nominees. “WOW to all these women actors’ #OscarNoms!!,” reads the caption of the post.

In her post, Reese marked all the nominees in two categories: Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

The list includes Octavia Spencer, Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, Meryl Streep, and others.

In the second post, Witherspoon marked several more wonderful and talented women nominated in other categories: Greta Gerwig, Emily V. Gordon, Dee Rees, and Vanessa Taylor.

As it was expected, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Post, Lady Bird, and I, Tonya are competing in several categories, including Best Picture and Best Actress. However, the absolute leader of this year's ceremony is Guillermo del Toro's fantasy drama The Shape of Water, which has in total 13 nominations.
