Breaking News: Hall Of Fame Wrestler 'Luscious' Johnny Valiant Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck

Fans of wrestling just lost a legend of the sport. WWE Hall of Famer 'Luscious' Johnny Valiant died on Wednesday morning in Pittsburgh after he was hit by a truck. He was 71.

Dead on arrival

Valiant, real name Thomas Sullivan, was reportedly trying to cross the busy McKnight Road near Siebert Road when the accident that killed him happened. He was also not on the crosswalk when it occurred.

The incident took place at 5:30 am. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Daily Mail reports that an investigation is underway. They say, however, that there is no available evidence the sad incident was caused by some unknown factor.

His professional life

Valiant began his career as a wrestler in 1969. He rose to fame after he won the World Tag Team Championship in 1974.

He also won the World Tag Team Championship with his wrestling brother, Jimmy Valiant, in 1979, and had a great career.

Fans are heartbroken

The WWE announced the death of the phenomenal wrestler via their official Twitter handle. Wrestler, Luke Gallows, tweeted:

Always kind to me and very helpful early in my career.

Fans have also been sending their condolence messages to his family. We wish them well in their time of grief.

Breaking News
