Lara, who is married to Eric Trump, has moved quickly to establish herself as a key animal advocate on the federal level, meeting with officials at the Departments of Interior, Agriculture, and Veterans Affairs.
She's no animal rights advocate. She's married to a trophy hunter! A wolf in sheep's clothing! ???????????? pic.twitter.com/rtUPCggEuf

She has also met with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on saving about 70,000 horses and burros on Bureau of Land Management land in the West

Donald Trump's son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lara, adopted a stray Beagle who was so sick when he first came into a shelter that he had to stay at the vet hospital for a month.
Ben, the Beagle, was brought to the San Antonio Animal Care Services in April 2016 with many injuries.
The couple fostered Ben and decided they wanted to keep him. The Trumps adopted him in August 2017 and have been sharing his journey on social media.
It is important to adopt pets from shelters
Thinking of adding a pet to your family? Here are five reasons to adopt your new best friend.
1. Because it’ll cost you less.
2. Because it's one way to fight puppy mills.
3. Because you'll save a life.
4. Many shelter animals are already housetrained.
5. Pets can help you maintain an active lifestyle.
Regardless of your political affiliation or how you feel about the Trump's presidency, it is great to see Lara Trump using her platform to support laboratory animals and join those who work to end their suffering.
We hope that this is not the last time we see something so uplifting coming from the family. Perhaps, it would not be too much to wish that Lara Trump’s influence rubs off on the president resulting in more support for animal issues overall.
