Who is Jack?

31-year-old Jack is a party lover and London’s socialite. He works as a Brand Ambassador of Casamigos tequila, which was founded by American actor George Clooney. Jack used to work in bars and pubs and has been dreaming about opening his own chain of pubs since he was 18.

Brooksbank was introduced to his future wife by their mutual friends on a ski resort Switzerland back in 2010. He proposed to her in January 2018 when the couple was visiting Nicaragua on a romantic spot beside a beautiful lake as the sun was setting.

Eugenie’s royal roots come from her father’s side, Prince Andrew, who is the second son of Queen Elizabeth II.

An old tradition or a phenomenon?

Marrying cousins is an old practice amongst the royals. Eugenie’s grandmother, the Queen, and her husband, Prince Philip, are also related. They are direct descendants of Queen Victoria.

Though marrying relatives is not a common occurrence anymore, it used to be a requirement for most royal families for centuries. The reason is simple - if they married a commoner, they would lose their right to the throne.
