Date March 29, 2018 12:39

The family of Jennifer and Sarah Hart, the parents of Devonte Hart, the boy holding Free Hugs sign from a viral photo, found dead after their SUV fell down the cliff on the California highway. Together with the women, three of her children were also found deceased in the accident. Three other adopted kids are not detected yet.

Devonte's popularity

The family became famous after the viral photo made in 2014 during the Portland protest, when the jury decided not to charge a police officer with shooting a black man in Ferguson, Missouri.

The boy in the photo is Devonte Hart who was standing with the Free Hugs sign when a Portland officer asked him to embrace.

The result was a remembered photo full of emotions. Perhaps, that picture was one of the last for Devonte.

Terrible tragedy

On Monday, March 25, the family set up on camping by their SUV, leaving at home most of their belongings, pets, and domestic animals.

The police can’t say the exact reason for the accident:

There were no skid marks; there were no brake marks at the turnout on the Pacific Coast Highway where the vehicle went over.

The family’s house didn’t have any evidence of violence or domestic harassments.

The Harts’ friends claimed that the family was happy; however, the neighbors stated that there were some unpleasant moments as well:

She [one of the Harts girl] was at our door in a blanket saying we needed to protect her. She said that they were abusing her.

Others said they were repeatedly giving some food to Devonte, as the boy used to come to their house too often, stating he was hungry.

Hopes for the best

The accident is horrible indeed. We are hoping that the three missing kids will be found safe and sound. However, the concerns about the family consciousness are still there. No skid marks? No domestic violence evidence? The case is definitely full of mysteries, and sooner or later, we will find out about them.
