Mickey Mouse Club Star, Doreen Tracey, Has Passed Away At 74 After A 2-Year-Long Battle With Cancer

The Disney family just lost one of its brightest members. Doreen Tracey, one of the nine original Mouseketeers from the company's legendary TV show Mickey Mouse Club has passed away on January 10, 2018.

In 1955, Doreen joined the cast of Disney's new TV show. She remained in the show up until 1958. Apart from being a Mousketeer, Tracey starred in several Disney's movies.

And even after the show ended, the actress remained pretty close with the studio. Decades later, she would still appear at the show's jubilees and anniversary reunions.

One of her cast-mates, Tommy Cole, recalled the days of shooting the Mickey Mouse Club in a recent statement:

Our Dodo, as we lovingly nicknamed her, always had a smile on her face. She never failed to make us all feel good, and we will miss her.

Doreen also worked with the legendary musician Frank Zappa and the Warner Brothers company.

Losing the long battle with cancer.

For the last two years, Doreen Tracey was battling cancer. Recently, she was taken to a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California, after developing pneumonia.

The former actress has passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 74.

Tracey is survived by her son, Bradley, and two grandchildren, Autumn and Gavin.

People on social media were devastated by the news of her death.
