Meghan Markle Sparks In Stunning £56,000 Ralph And Russo Gown At Her Official Engagement Portrait With Prince Harry

Date December 22, 2017

As a Hollywood star who is going to join the royal family, Meghan Markle has a tough challenge to accomplish: to fit in with her fellow royal in-laws without losing her signature style and charm. And judging from the recent photos of the 36-year-old soon-to-be-bride, she seems to already figure out the way she can do it.

Recently, Kensington Palace released two official engagement portraits of Prince Harry and Miss Markle. In contrast to more classic and conservative engagement portraits of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Meghan opted for a more glamorous and fancy outfit.

The Suits star wore a gorgeous floor-length dress by a wife and husband duo Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo. The long-sleeved dress has a semi-sheer silver beaded top and a full tulle skirt. While it looks more appropriate for a red carpet, the gown fits the future bride perfectly and makes the whole picture look less official and more romantic and vivid.

The gown from the Autumn Winter 2016/2017 collection is reported to cost £56,000 (around $75,000). But according to The Sun, the couple paid for the gown privately, instead of using the royal funds, and the final price was “nowhere near that figure.”

The UK-based couture brand is known for its stunning red carpet and wedding dresses. However, being chosen by a future royal brings the talented designers to a whole new level.

Curiously, the dress looks pretty similar to the one that Hollywood star chose later for a pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The makeup was the one thing that Meghan decided to keep as modest as possible. A classic combination of smokey eyes and a natural pink lip gloss makes the whole image look even more perfect.

Previously, it was reported that Meghan Markle would be the first fiancee to celebrate Christmas with the royal family, even though it is against the traditional protocol. The couple will tie the knot on May 19, 2018.
