Meghan Markle Looks Like A True Princess At Queen's Annual Pre-Christmas Lunch

Date December 22, 2017 11:16

Meghan Markle seems to have learned a couple of royal dressing rules. The Suits star looked gorgeous and elegant as she arrived at the queen's traditional pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, December 20th.

Meghan Markle and her fiance Prince Harry joined other royals for an annual festive luncheon hosted by Queen Elizabeth II. Among the other guests, there were Prince William and Kate Middleton along with their kids, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and others.

It was the first time the 36-year-old Hollywood star got a chance to meet an extended royal family before the wedding in May 2018.

Graceful and elegant like Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly is often referred to as the first American Princess. People adored the Hollywood icon for her magnificent style and elegance. And it looks like Meghan Markle chose Grace Kelly as one of her new role models.

The soon-to-be-bride seems to throw away her bright and sexy Hollywood-style dresses and switch to more modest and elegant outfits instead. Even though all the cameras were able to capture the top of Meghan's dress, people managed to identify her gown rather quickly.

According to Hello! Fashion, the future royal was sporting a £300 (around $400) Nightshade Midi dress by Self-Portrait. The dress has a classic A-line skirt and a guipure lace top with a mock neck and short sleeves.

As Christine Ross, an editor at Meghan's Mirror told E! News, Meghan Markle was not the first royal to choose this particular dress. It was also seen on Princess Amalia of the Netherlands.

In addition to her elegant dress, the Suits star chose a pair of beautiful earrings with pear-shaped diamonds. Even her makeup was more modest than usual: light pink lip gloss and smoky eyes with golden eyeshadow.

It was previously confirmed that despite the royal protocol, Meghan Markle will also spend Christmas with Prince Harry and his relatives at Sandringham, the queen's private residence. She will be the first fiancee to join the royal family for Christmas before the actual wedding.
