Date November 22, 2017

Over the years, Beyonce proved time and time again that she is a force to reckon with in the music industry. She is known by many as Queen Bey for a reason. She is also considered the face of pop culture, and it's hard to imagine our musical era without her influence.

Her music and entertainment works have been recognized time and time again. The 20-time Grammy Award winner was recently hailed by Forbes as the highest paid woman in music. According to the publication, she edged out both Adele and Taylor Swift thanks to her earning of $105 million.

Forbes suggested that the release of her Lemonade album and the Formation World Tour helped her rake in the big bucks this year, with the latter grossing at a quarter of a billion dollars.

Beyonce's Career

Love her or hate her, no one can deny that Beyonce is one of the most hardworking women in the entertainment industry. Born September 4, 1981, the leading singer was groomed for her current position from a very young age.

The public was first introduced to this beautiful and talented singer when she was the lead vocalist of the R&B group Destiny's Child. She later launched a solo career and celebrated her independence with the debut of her first album, Dangerously In Love.

Within a few years, she became one of the top-selling artists in the world. She is not just a singer, she's also a pretty decent actress. She has featured in several films, including Dream Girls.

Personal Life

Beyonce's personal life has captured almost as much attention as her career. Married to the famous and super successful rapper, Jay-Z, she has managed to keep her relationship away from the public eye for the most part, which is a feat, considering the era we now live in.

The singer and rapper tied the knots in 2008 and in 2011, she epically announced her first pregnancy by displaying her baby bump at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The couple's first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, was born on January 7, 2012. Her birth made headlines as there were reports that the parents rented out a whole floor of New York's Lenox Hill Hospital to ensure privacy.

In fact, there are those who think that Beyonce would have earned more this year had she not needed to take a break to take care of her family. Clearly, the star was of the opinion that there are things that are more important than money.

Despite the break, though, she still came out on top, and we have to congratulate Bey on this huge achievement.

Other big stars who made the Forbes list were Adele, who came in second at $69 million, and Taylor Swift, following her at $44 million. Celine Dion and Jenifer Lopez came in at fourth ($42 million) and fifth ($38 million) place respectively.

It's safe to say that Beyonce does not plan to stop anytime soon, and we cannot wait to witness new chapters in her career. And of course, more updates on her beautiful family.
