Woman Who Briefly Cared For Nikolas Cruz Demands Control Of His $800,000 Inheritance

19-year-old Nikolas Cruz is currently facing charges following the February 14 high school shooting where 17 people lost their lives.

Rocxanne Deschamps seeks inheritance

After Nikolas Cruz adoptive mother, Lynda Cruz, died in November last year, he and his brother, Zachary, gained control of her estate.

Rocxanne Deschamps, the woman who took boys in afterward, is now demanding to be named the administrator of Lynda's estate following Nikolas' arraignment. It is reportedly worth up to $800,000.

Deschamps began making these moves just one day after Nikolas took a gun into the Marjory Douglas Stoneman High School in Parkland, murdered 17 people and injured 15 others.

17-year-old Zachary is currently still living with Deschamps where he has been undergoing a mental evaluation.

A source who spoke to Dailymail said Zachary was involuntarily committed as there have been allegations that he was planning to "finish what his older brother started."

The source also said that Deschamps' petition to gain control of the inheritance was not for her personal gain. She had been facing quite a lot of attention, threats, and backlash since the horrific shooting. But even though she did not condone the crime, she also felt she needed to have access to the inheritance so she could look after both boys.

A family member who spoke to the New York Post said that Nikolas would have inherited $800,000 when he turned 22.

Nikolas' mom's death

Lynda Cruz passed away in November 2017. The boys then had to move in with Deschamps. However, Nikolas later moved out when he was not allowed to keep his guns in the home.

According to reports, he went to live with James and Kimberly Snead whose son also attended the school where the massacre took place.

One of Nikolas' family members insisted that the young man's upbringing did not push him to commit such a terrible crime. But, those around him said Nikolas had always been a disturbed kid who was obsessed with guns and violence.
