As the big day approaches, fans of the royal family are interested in getting as many details as possible. And there have been a lot of speculations regarding different aspects of the wedding day, such as the dress, guests, activities, and even the wedding bouquet.

Meghan Markle may carry a significant flower

Every royal bride since Queen Victoria has walked down the aisle holding a small piece of myrtle, which is added to the bouquet. The flower aptly symbolizes love and marriage.

The brides who have carried the myrtle

When Kate Middleton and Prince William were tying the knot, the Duchess had a sprig of myrtle in her bouquet. The flower was from a plant given to Queen Victoria by Albert's grandmother.

The first royal bride to add the myrtle to her bouquet was Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Princess Victoria. Subsequently, the sprig of myrtle carried by the Duchess of Cambridge, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Queen Elizabeth.

In November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparked quite the conversation when they announced they were engaged. A couple of weeks later, they announced their wedding date.

During the holidays, the couple released their official engagement photos, and since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating the big day.

In preparation for life as a member of the royal family, Markle recently deleted her Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. None of the royal family members has their own individual social media account, so this was quite a significant move as it showed she was getting prepared to join the family.
