Real Life Hero: Harrison Ford Rescued A Woman After A Dramatic Car Accident

Date November 24, 2017

Harrison Ford proved that he is not just a hero in movies. The 'Indiana Jones' star was recently pictured rescuing a woman who had crashed her vehicle.

The incident took place in Santa Paula, California. According to eyewitnesses, the woman lost control of her car and ended up crashing into an embankment. TMZ reported that the actor was driving behind her at the time.

As soon as Ford noticed what was happening, he parked his own vehicle and rushed to the woman's aide. He successfully pulled her out of the car to prevent more injuries. He was with her until paramedics arrived at the scene.

The on-screen hero

Harrison Ford has been known to play the part of some of our favorite movie heroes, the most notable of which was the title character in 'Indiana Jones' film series.

Before that, he gained worldwide fame as Han Solo in the Star Wars film series. The actor is also known for his role as Rick Deckard in the sci-fi film Blade Runner (1982) and John Book in Witness (1985), a role which earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor.

The off-screen hero

You probably imagine that for someone whose career revolves around playing leading characters in action films, Ford enjoys all the thrills and adventures he could possibly seek. But it turns out he is as much of a hero off-screen as he is in his movies.

In 2015, Ford had to do an emergency crash landing after his plane lost engine power mid-flight. He wanted to avoid landing in a populated suburb and potentially hurt people, so he descended onto a golf course instead. The incident resulted in hospitalization.

In 2001, he was a real hero for a 13-year old boy. The teenage had been missing, and Ford found the boy when he was flying his helicopter around Wyoming.

A year before that, he saved two female hikers who were at the top of Table Mountain in Wyoming. One of the women described Ford as being very polite even when she vomited in his helicopter.

Harrison Ford obviously does not hesitate when a situation to help somebody arises, and we think that's pretty heroic.
