Who Might Become The Royal Newborn Prince's Godparents?
With the royal baby arrival, many started wondering who will become the child’s godparents. The Duchess of Cambridge has a lot of close friends, but she will surely choose the most special people for such an honorable duty.
Welcome new Prince!
Kate Middleton gave birth to a healthy baby boy on April 23, 2018, at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. The parents were happy and delighted as well as the whole royal family. Kate looked great and almost-like not tired after the labor, when 7 hours later, she and Prince William got out of the hospital and moved home to Kensington Palace.
The whole pregnancy was thoroughly planned by the doctors, and it would become as a surprise if the parents have already chosen specific people for the role of godparent. Of course, the official statement is yet to be announced, but we can make some clear presumptions with the things we know about the relationships between the members of the royal family.
The first child, Prince George, has seven godparents, including Prince William’s cousin, Zara Tindall, and a former private secretary, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton. Princess Charlotte has five godparents, including Sophie Carter, Kate’s long-time friend, and two closest friends of Prince Williams - Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade.
Meghan Markle as a godparent
So, what about godparents of the third baby? The newly formed sisterly bond between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle can help us answer that question. It is most likely that the proud parents will choose Meghan as one of the godparents since they’ve developed such a genuine friendship.
We congratulate the royal family with the addition, and we are sure that Meghan Markle would be a great godparent if being chosen.
