His music career started over 50 years ago. Totally, he got five Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, and other countless prizes. Legendary English singer and pianist is 71, and it seems he is not going to stop.

Born on March 25, 1947, the British idol immediately conquered the public with his talent. Since 1967, he has worked with his lyricist Bernie Taupin and altogether sold over 300 million records for his career.

His amazingly successful hit Candle in the Wind, honoring deceased Princess Diana, was purchased more than 33 million times and is considered the most sold single in the chart history of the United Kingdom.

Incredible life

The incredible talent is now 71, and he continues to entertain his fans around the world with the exquisite approach to the music style and his joyful character.

His actual name is Reginald Kenneth Dwight, but he decided to pick a nickname to honor his mentors: vocalist Long John Baldry and saxophonist Elton Dean. His modern performances feature classic suits, but he used to wear much brighter and dazzling outfits at the beginning of his career.

In his 71, John continues to choose unique glasses for each occasion – his passion towards them became legendary when it turned out that he owns more than 1,000 of the pairs at his home.
