Famous Singer And Songwriter Huey Lewis Had To Cancel All Performances In 2018 Due To Hearing Loss
A famous American singer and songwriter, Huey Lewis, had to cancel all his performances in 2018 due to severe health issues – the singer lost his hearing.
Huey Lewis announced his hearing loss
Huey Lewis, a frontman of the popular band Huey Lewis and the News, canceled all their future performances in this year.
The 67-year-old star said he addressed to several medical institutions, including the Mayo Clinic, and the specialists believe his hearing loss was caused by the Meniere’s disease. It is an inner-ear disorder characterized by ringing in the ears and hearing loss.
Lewis wrote in his statement:
Two-and-a-half months ago I lost most of my hearing. Although I can still hear a little, one on one, and on the phone, I can't hear music well enough to sing.

The singer added he feels very sorry and sincerely apologizes to all fans for the shows’ cancellation.
I'm going to concentrate on getting better and hope that one day soon, I'll be able to perform again.
Huey Lewis is best-known for his awesome hits “The Power of Love," "I Want a New Drug," "Heart and Soul.” He also made a soundtrack to the iconic film Back to the Future.
