Cirque Du Soleil Aerialist Dies After Falling During Performance

A sad tragedy occurred during a Cirque du Soleil performance in Florida on Saturday. The aerialist, Yann Arnaud, has died after falling to the stage.

A recent Cirque du Soleil show that took place on March 17 in Tampa, Florida will be remembered for a very long time. One of the aerialists, Yann Arnaud, has died after falling to the stage while performing an “aerial straps number”.


Yann worked at the Cirque for over 15 years. The young man was loved and admired by everyone who had the chance to know him.

Representatives of the company announced the sad news in the official statement on Twitter:

The entire Cirque du Soleil family is in shock and devastated by this tragedy.

After falling, Arnaud was immediately transported to the nearest hospital. Doctors did their utmost to save the guy’s life, but Yann died as a result of his serious injuries.

One of the visitors in the audience took a video of the accident.

It is not the first case when a cast member of Cirque du Soleil has died while on tour. In 2013, an aerialist, Sarah Guillot-Guyard, passed away after she fell to the stage in Las Vegas.

In 2016, technician, Olivier Rochette, was struck by a lift while preparing the stage for a performance. He died in the hospital of his injuries.


Two more performances were scheduled to take place in Tampa, but the company representatives canceled them soon after the tragedy.
