It is always super exciting to hear about new TV series, especially if it’s Netflix’s production. Reportedly, the monstrous company with a 118 million army of subscribers all over the world is negotiating with the former president Barack Obama to create a new series of the high-profile show.
It is unknown how much the Obamas will be paid by Netflix. However, the recent Barack Obama’s $65 million book deal with Penguin Random House can give us a clue. He will be paid such an unprecedented amount of money for a “straightforward memoir about his presidency.”
Netflix’s TV-series is a great way to communicate with millions of people all over the world, besides those who have already been following his Twitter and Facebook accounts. It gives an opportunity which none of the iconic personas of the past had.
Details of the show
The series is going to highlight inspirational stories, rather than responding to any criticism of Obama’s policy. In one possible scenario, Mr. Obama could raise all the topics that dominated over his presidency – health care, immigration, climate change, foreign policy, etc. Another possible show idea could feature Michelle Obama’s favorite topics, such as nutrition, equality, and racism.
Eric Schultz, Obama’s senior advisor, told in an interview:
President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.
Are you excited for the show? Do you think the Obamas are doing a good thing by trying to connect to the public not only on social media but through a television show?
