The couple tied the knot in 2008 and is now raising three wonderful kids: a beautiful girl Blue Ivy Carter (born in 2012) and cute little twins, Rumi and Sir Carter (born in July 2017).

With both their parents being rich and successful, the kids of the famous duo seem to have all the chances to be spoiled. Thankfully, Jay-Z knows how to avoid that and teach his kids the most important things in life.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Jay-Z shares some of his thought on how to properly raise kids as good persons. According to the rapper, the most important things we can teach our kids is to have compassion for others and to know their history.

They're growing up in a different environment. But also they have to know their history. Have a sense of what it took to get to this place. And have compassion for others. The most important thing I think out of all this is to teach compassion and to identify with everyone's struggle and to know these people made these sacrifices for us to be where we are and to push that forward — for us.

Also, the popular singer said he would want his kids to be kind, have empathy, and be fair to other people.

Treat people as they are, no matter who they are, no matter where they sit in the world, not to, like, be super nice to someone at a high position or mean to someone who they've deemed to be below them.

The rapper seems to understand that things, such as love and compassion, cannot be bought. He said that while he cannot buy love or put it in his child's hands, he can show them affection and express his love. And leading by example is one of the best things a father can do for a child.
