Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement was officially announced on Monday, November 27, and since then, the royal family has done a fantastic job of keeping us up to date.

They have shared several social media posts containing statements from the members of the couple's family in response to the big day.

So far, we have learned when and where the wedding will take place. We also know that the royal family plans to foot the bills and we listened to the soon-to-be-wed couple share the story of how they met. But what we don't still know - and we probably will not know for sure until the wedding - is what Meghan Markle plans to wear on the big day.

Markle's ideal wedding dress

In an interview with Glamour in 2016, Markle shared a few details on what her ideal wedding dress would look like. At the time, we had no clue of a relationship between her and the prince.

The topic came up at the time because the American actress was talking wedding dresses ahead of the Season 3 finale of the legal drama Suits, in which her character, Rachel Zane, wore a beautiful gown.

She told the magazine in 2016 that her favorite wedding dress designers were Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos. She also added:

And I will always be a fan of Elie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs.

Describing what she imagined her own wedding dress to look like someday, she said:

Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic.

For the particular wedding episode, Rachel Zane wore a “classic-and-fairy-tale-inspired" gown by Anne Barge.

The big day

The wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take place in May 2018 at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, according to this Twitter post by the Kensington Palace.

We doubt we will be able to catch a glimpse of the chosen dress before the wedding day. But from this brief description given by Megha, we can hazard a close guess on what it might look like, and we can safely say it will be absolutely stunning.
