The Netflix series, 'The Crown' began gaining popularity quite fast since the premiere season was released on November 4, 2016.

The story is based on Queen Elizabeth's early years up until her reign and later years. It was reportedly based on true events and offers a lot of historical details that viewers are finding quite captivating.

However, if you are the type to only enjoy a show because you just love to watch your favourite actors do their thing, you may not be too thrilled with this particular series. This is because every two seasons, The Crown will be making some changes in its cast.

Claire Foy and Matt Smith are currently playing Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip respectively. However, there are about to be some major cast changes and this will also mean that Vanessa Kirby may no longer be the actress playing Princess Margaret.

The role of Princess Margaret

According to recent reports English actress, Helena Bonham Carter may be succeeding Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret in the third season of The Crown.

At the end of the second season, Margaret had married Antony Armstrong-Jones, the Earl of Snowdon and she was pregnant with one of their children.

Since the TV show tells a story that spans several decades, it is understandable that the characters would age. So, instead of using makeup to reflect the changes, the producers chose to do a regular overhaul of the cast members and in this case, it is done every two seasons.

Helena Bonham Carter - a worthy actress

The 51-year-old English actress is known for some pretty iconic roles. In 2010, she played Queen Elizabeth in The King's Speech, a role which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
