Date January 4, 2018 17:40

2018 seems to have started on a great note! Just when we think “okay, the festivities are over and it’s time to get back to work”, Chris Carter’s X-Files new season is set to start airing!

About X-Files

For those who aren’t familiar with it, the X-Files is a science fiction drama series that originally aired between September 1993 and May 2002.

There were 202 episodes over a nine-season period. Later, the show was followed by a relatively short tenth season in January 2016. It appeared fans loved the return of the X-Files as the ratings went really high.

As a result, Fox eventually announced in 2017 that there would be the eleventh season of ten episodes.

Do we really need more?

There were mixed feelings over the announcement of the 11th season coming this January 3rd.

Some were excited to see what happens next after season ten ended, but others were not so happy.

What fans are saying

One Alicia Florrick shared a post on Instagram with a collage of a lady who stepped on a table where some writers were and threw away their papers.

She captioned it “Me entering the X-Files writers room.”

Interestingly, she got quite a number of supporters with that post.

From these and several other comments and posts about the new release, it appears that the majority of people are simply outraged about the new season

But what about you? What do you think about the new season? Is it something you have been looking forward to since its announcement or do you also think there is no need to air it?
