Date April 26, 2019 12:10

Two stars of Chicago Med would be checking out at the end of the current season. Norma Kuhling and Colin Donnell will be exiting the series and would not be returning for season 5. This means that their last episode in the show will air in just a few weeks.

The fifth season coming soon

Popular NBC drama franchise Chicago Med has been renewed for a fifth season. What can be expected from the medical show's fifth installment?

It would be suggested that we can expect at least 20 episodes for the next season, but so far, nothing has been confirmed.

The show has not had a consistent premiere broadcast pattern, jumping from mid-November to late September to late November and then, back to late September in 2018. It, however, has an impressive ensemble cast.

Two stars exit the show

The decision of the casts to leave the series was because their characters were written out for creative reasons related to the characters’ story evolution, according to Deadline.

This means the writers of the show didn’t feel they had anything else for Dr. Connor Rhodes and Dr. Ava Bekker, after a controversial season for both characters.

Colin, who plays the role of Dr. Connor Rhodes, is an original cast member and has been with the show since the beginning. While Norma, who plays Dr. Ava Bekker, joined the Chicago Med team after the second season's finale and became a regular in season three.

There is no news yet if new actors will be hired to replace them, or if the show will just continue with more focus on the Emergency Department.
