How did Natalie and Robert meet

Natalie Wood first met Robert when she was just 14. She probably sensed he was "the one" and thus informed her mother about her plans to get married to him. She said to her mom:

I am going to marry that man

In 1957, Wagner proposed to Natalie by placing a pearl-and-diamond ring inscribed "Marry Me" in her crystal champagne glass, and they got married later that year.

However, in 1962, the couple split only to reconcile and get married again in 1972. However, on November 29, 1981, she tragically passed away.

Natalie’s mysterious death

In 2011, her death case was reopened. Initially, it was believed Natalie drowned while falling off their yacht with reports coming two weeks after her death stating that she was slightly intoxicated.

Investigations carried out later on in 2011, and this time, the captain of the Splendour, Dennis Davern, stated that he initially lied to the police. He believes Wagner was the real cause of the death.

He further stated that Wood and Wagner were involved in a dispute shortly before her death.

The police were also forced to reclassify the death of Natalie Wood from “accidental drowning” to “drowning and other undetermined factors”. Lt. John Corina of Los Angeles County sheriff’s department further stated that Wagner is now “more of an interest”. He said:

As we’ve investigated the case over the last six years, I think he’s [Wagner] more of a person of interest now, ... I mean, we know now that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared.

Robert wrote a book about her

Robert wrote a book titled "When She Died I Thought My Life Was Over". He reflected about his one-time wife and how he thought he could never “function” again without her. However, he still remains “a person of interest” to the police authorities.

More autopsies were carried out on Natalie’s body, and bruises were discovered which could indicate that an assault led to death.

In any case, we hope Natalie rests in perfect peace in the world beyond.
