Pink Claps Back At Twitter Troll Who Insulted Her Super Bowl Performance

Pink impressed many people when she performed at the Super Bowl even while battling the flu. However, not everyone had something nice to say.

Trying to practice the flu away. I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can’t write this stuff I swear! And here we are. I’ve arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare. I will tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my family, my military family, my dad and brother and step mama and family and the world. And the EAGLES!?!?! I promise I will do my best, as I always do. As far as the gremlins that got me into this mess, you can cough at me for the rest of your lives. Pink's superb performance

The pop star, who also happens to be a devoted Eagles' fan, was at the Super Bowl on Sunday where she sang the National Anthem. Because she was under the weather, she had to take a cough drop to help clear her throat before the show.

Just as she was about to begin, fans noticed her take out the lozenge, but before she could clarify what was going on, Twitter was abuzz with posts about her forgetting to take out her gum in time for her performance.

She did later come out to rectify that particular misunderstanding:

Then, Pink went on to give a fantastic performance of the National Anthem. But evidently, the trolls were not done picking apart her effort.

Twitter rudeness

A Twitter user said, after Pink's performance, that she did not do a very good job.

He probably never expected the singer to respond, but she did. And she did not hold back any punches. In her reply, she told the user, whose account has now been protected:

Yeah but at least I s**k while singing our countries national anthem, and you just s**k by yourself on a dirty couch.

Praises from her fans

Pink appreciated her supporters who had kind words to say about her performance and express their sympathy that she had to go out there while battling the flu.

Her fans certainly had her back against the hateful people on the internet.

It was a throat lozenge. She’s had flu and obviously needed it to ease the pain. Despite being ill she turned up and did a great job. She deserves praise, not gutter journalism with no fact checking or sense of balance. @Pink #Pink

Love or hate her, Pink is a very talented lady, and it takes a lot of courage to go out and sing when you're not feeling a hundred percent. Plus, she did a swell job despite all of that.
