One side of the story

Some fans of the popular TV show believed it was because of Kim Cattrall’s demands and outrageous ultimatums. But 61-year-old slammed rumors that she didn’t reprise the role of Samantha because of the pay. Rather, she just didn’t really want to shoot another movie.

The actress then called out her former costar, Sarah Jessica Parker, for unpleasant comments made regarding the project being scrapped. The Golden Globe winner said:

I really think she could have been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is.

She’d go on to tell that she had never considered any cast members to be her soulmates or friends, which left Parker heartbroken.

Co-star's comments

On the recent WWHL show, the Sex and the City star revealed new details of the conflict with her colleague. As Sarah admitted, Kim's words greatly upset her.

I don’t know, I found it very upsetting because that’s not the way I recall our experience.

She always thought that a truly unique experience was what tied all the actresses. Yes, it was work, but at the same time, the project became something personal for the four because they spent years and even decades of their life on it.

Will there be a continuation?

Interestingly, Kim Cattrall is not against the release of the third film about four friends but with another actress playing Samantha (for example, Sharon Stone). And this might be a solution, but the creators do not want to go back to the drawing board.

So, indeed, it is the end of the legendary TV series with its funny, joyful, and very relatable story, lines, and dialogs. Still, the fans can enjoy re-watching six seasons and two feature films about the women’s lives.
