Salma Hayek, Stephen Colbert, Lin-Manuel Miranda And Others Join Oprah On 'SuperSoul Conversations'

The Golden Globes this year will stand out for years to come, and for several reasons. First, the ceremony was coming in the wake of the sexual misconduct revelations sweeping America. Second, some of the winners were first-time nominees.

And the highlight of the event was the fiery and inspirational speech delivered by Oprah.

Oprah was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. It is the first time in the history of the Globes that an African-American woman will be awarded.

Her powerful speech called out to women and girls all over the world with a positive message. According to Oprah, it was time for them to stand up and make a difference, no matter where they are or what they do.

SuperSoul Conversations

Oprah just released snippets from her live recording of 'SuperSoul Conversations' at the famous Appollo Theater. This is the first time the TV mogul has appeared on the show since her speech at the Globes. Oprah looks absolutely stunning. Her outfit was a white ruffled shirt with a blue blazer with black pants. A slick ponytail and her reading glasses completed the look.

On this week's show, Oprah had a selection of very popular people on her guest list.

Trevor Noah, the host of The Daily Show 

Trevor spoke about his show and how it has changed since he took over from Jon Stewart.

When I took over the seat from Jon Stewart, I had an idea of what I wanted the show to be. And I also realized that I am existing and the show is existing as an organism in a world that is constantly changing.

She looked fabulous in a black mini-dress, a gold statement necklace with large pearls and black heels. Salma spoke about her reason for joining the #MeToo movement.

I thought, "There’s no point for me to talk because it happens to everyone. When we come together and unite with each other, it’s not about drama. It’s not about pain. It’s about something that can move powerfully and make change happen.

No way to the White House

Right after her speech at the Globes, many observers began suggesting that Oprah may be considering running for president. Close friends and other stars have shared their opinions on the issue. And most of them say Oprah does have the trappings of a president.

However, Oprah shot down all speculation when she made her position know during her show. While speaking with Lin-Manuel, Oprah said that she had no intention of running for office anytime soon.

Before the Globes, Oprah made this statement that more or less stated the obvious.

I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me.


Sorry Oprah fans. You have to make do with the loads of inspiration this beloved icon continues to share.
