Denzel Washington, the Academy Award-winning actor, had words of advice for the graduating students of Dillard University. In that speech, he gave them a few points that he said he believed brought him to where he was and would help them too.

1. Put God first.

It is no surprise that this was his first piece of advice to them seeing that has been his personal story. Beginning at a point where he had been flunking out of college and rising all the way to where he has gotten to, it is definitely evident God must have been in the mix.

In his words, he said:

Everything that I have is by the grace of God.
