NCIS And Quantum Leap Star Scott Bakula Shared A Lesson He Learned On Preserving Family And Raising His Kids

Scott Bakula, a multi-talented actor with over a decade experience of fame, success, and influence on the movie industry, shares with us what acting taught him about family. Bakula has an ancestry lineage of German, Czech, Austrian, Scottish, and English people, he also hails from a musical family. His first professional role as an actor came in 1976 when he starred in the movie Shenandoah, where he played the role of Sam.

His career and bio

In 1989, after playing some minor roles on television, he featured alongside Dean Stockwell in the science fiction series Quantum Leap, where he played the role of Dr. Sam Beckett. The latter was a renowned physicist who was trapped in time to correct things gone wrong in the past.

He starred in other movies, such as Star Trek: Enterprise (2001), where he played Jonathan Archer, the captain of the earth first long-range starship. In 1992, he won a Golden Globe for Best Performance in a TV drama.

Scott's family

Scott Bakula has been married twice and has four children from both marriages. First, he was married to Krista Neumann.

His biggest regret about his family was captured when he said he regrets missing Chelsy's, his daughter, "formative years".

It took me a long time to work out my feelings about our relationship.

His secrets for a happy life

In 2001, Bakula signed on the headline Star Trek: Enterprise and made a solemn promise to make his family the priority. Hear his words:

I had to put in my contract that I would be done every Wednesday at 6 so I could be home for dinner.

He had fathered two kids Will, 20, and Owen, 16, with his second wife Chelsea Field. He said:

And I made time to coach my son's soccer and baseball teams.

He says of his marriage:

We work hard to stay present in the relationship. Chelsea is amazingly present and has taught me a lot about relationships and spirituality. I feel incredibly lucky to have the career and family I do.

It is most rewarding to have special time with family members for both paternal and maternal bond with children. Scott Bakula lives in Los Angeles, California and has a farm in upstate New York.
