Laura San Is No Stranger To Crime Stories As She Moves From Her Role In 'Pretty Woman' To An NCIS Doctor

Most fans of Hollywood would be familiar with the famous Pretty Woman movie that starred Julia Roberts as the lead female character.

Aside from the Julia Roberts, there are also some very familiar and famous faces that starred in that movie. Laura San Giacomo is definitely one of them, playing the role of Kit, Vivian’s best friend in the 1991 classics.

Laura’s Early Career

Laura San Giacomo is an American actress known for playing Kit in the 1991 movie classics Pretty Woman. Prior to the Pretty Woman movie, Laura played the role of Cynthia in the 1989 film Sex, Lies, and Videotape.

After Pretty Woman, she acted as Maya on the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me that lasted from 1997-2003. She also starred in TNT drama Saving Grace from 2007-2010.

Among other accomplishments, Laura has been a two time Golden Globe Award nominee and a BAFTA Award nominee.

Laura opened up about her son's disability.

Laura during her interview in 2012 opened up about her 16-year-old son who was born with cerebral palsy. Laura admitted to not having a positive outlook after her son was born due to the numerous negativity that surrounds people with Cerebral Palsy.

But she soon realized that all the stereotypes that surround cerebral palsy were all outdated ideas. When Mason was born, she was told he would never play basketball but at age 5, he was playing basketball.

She also said her son Mason benefitted from attending a fully inclusive school that caters to kids with disability.

Her role in NCIS

Apart from her role in Pretty Woman and other movies and television series, Laura is also one of the casts of NCIS. Laura joined the CBC series as the resident psychiatrist named Dr. Grace Confalone.

Her role in the television series is to evaluate agents psyche to know if they are of sound mind and fit for active duty. Laura was a part of the drama from 2016-2017.
