While working on set
The 63-year-old award-winning actor, director, and producer Denzel Washington is shooting a crime/thriller movie called Roman J. Israel, Esq. During an interview, Denzel shared how he, the producer, and writer prayed and read the Bible every day. He adds:
We know Who we work for, and we're just trying to do our best work.
Denzel grew up in a Christian based home. His father actually happened to be the pastor of the church he attended, and growing up as a preacher’s kid, Denzel always had to be present during all services. Hence, he felt church attendance was as much of a chore as anything else.
He finally experienced an encounter with the Holy Spirit that never left him the same.
“I had this tremendous physical and spiritual experience, it did frighten me, I was slobbering, crying, sweating. My cheeks blew up. I was purging. It was too intense,” he said.
When he was 20 years old, it was prophesied that he would travel to many nations and preach the gospel. Thus, he has been doing so with his work ever since.

Advice for the youths
Denzel explained how easy it is to get carried away and swayed from Christianity during these days. There is a lot of content released, and it’s our responsibility to remain steadfast and rooted in our Christian beliefs.
"Success? I don't know what that word means. I'm happy. But success, that goes back to what in somebody's eyes success means. For me, success is inner peace. That's a good day for me." Denzel Washington
