The Baby Mop became a real thing

It was all supposed to be a big joke. Advertised in Asian magazines as a way to “make your children work for their keep.” The idea was, if your child is of crawling age, simply dress them in the special onesie, place them on a hardwood floor, and watch in amazement as they spring into action.

The logic falls in the fact the child is just crawling as usual, and the cleaner floors is a bonus, so no child exploitation here, right? “Saturday Night Live” took the joke to another level when they ran this commercial for “Swiffer Sleepers.” And now, the Baby Mop is live!

Top five reasons you need a baby mop

In their blurb for the novelty product, the writers on the website joke the outfit will:

...teach your baby a strong work ethic early on in their life while helping to educate them not to drop food on the floor.
