Bride Includes Stepson And His Mom In Her Marriage Vows
Marriage unites two people and creates a special bond between them.
It is always a very special event in which a groom and bride exchange heartfelt teary love vows. This often leaves both of them and their guests emotional.
However, in this situation, the bride didn't just say the usual marriage vow to her husband-to-be. She went on to include her groom's ex-girlfriend, a mother of his four-year-old son and her new stepson, in her vows.
She moved almost everyone to tears with her words as they concluded "she's a perfect example of grace."
Bride pays tribute to her groom's ex
Katie Musser, a 24 years old bride-to-be, paid a touching tribute to her groom's ex-girlfriend, Casey Jo Bender, and his 4-year-old son Landon. While reciting her vows, she paused and asked Bender to stand with her husband before the attendees. Then she said:
First I want to thank you for accepting me as your friend and allowing me to be a part of Landon’s life, I promise to be an amazing mother to your son. I will guide, teach and love him every single day.
She then added:
I promise to respect, work, listen and communicate together as co-parents. I love you guys no matter what comes our way. We are one family, always.
Musser then faced the 4-year-old Landon and also recited her vows to him:
I promise to stand by you, listen to you and love you every day ... I promise to love Daddy with all my heart. I promise to be a best friend to your mommy and your daddy Tyler. We will be one big family that I promise you will have for the rest of your life.
She concluded by giving Landon a hug and promised to be his 'bonus mommy'.
The two women did not always get along well
Katie's relationship with Jeremy started in 2013, shortly after the birth of his son Landon.
The women did not get along, believing all the rumors that it was a norm for them to hate each other.
The women became friends despite all the odds
Despite all the odds, there was a dire need for them to be co-parents to Landon. Co-parenting with an ex mostly feels like a battlefield. However, after a considerable amount of time of hate between her and Casey, Katie wanted things to change.
So, shortly before Landon first birthday, she eventually reached out to Casey. Their relationship centered on love and interest for Landon but gradually drifted to other areas, making their friendship bond strong.
On her Facebook page, Katie said:
I know I can speak for us all, parenting is hard yet amazing, but co-parenting? It’s a blessing...it takes true understanding and support from the ones who love you.
She ended the note by saying everyone should change and go against the norm. What do you think about this situation? Please share your thoughts with us.
