Meghan Markle's Advice For All Those Making New Year Resolutions: 'Leave Room For Magic'
Two years ago, Prince Harry's bride Meghan Markle opened up about her New Year’s resolutions and surprised her fans by revealing that she decided not to make them. It turns out that the actress’ list of "things to do" was merely the same from year to year.
In her blog The Tig, Meghan confessed that she wanted to be more ladylike and get rid of her bad habits: biting her nails and swearing. The beloved of Prince Harry said that she could swear a lot if she was exhausted or had a couple of glasses of alcohol. And she didn’t achieve another goal, as she still bites her nails when she is nervous, especially during turbulence in an airplane.
Of course, she had other resolution that she still broke. She said:
Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year.
That is why Markle decided to try another approach. At the beginning of the year 2016, she decided she wanted to take life easily and playfully by enjoying it and appreciating herself. The actress promised herself that she would allow miracles to happen. She said:
To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change.
She suggested her readers join her and do the same. For sure, we don’t know about Meghan’s admirers, but the miracle did happen in her life – she met a real prince, and now she is engaged to him. Maybe we should follow her advice?
Giving up career
Unfortunately, we can no longer enjoy Markle’s simple and sincere posts. As she is engaged to the member of the royal family, all her messages will be purely official and will be made only by the representatives of the Kensington Palace.
But the blog was not the only thing she had to give up. In her first interview following the engagement, Meghan stated that she was quitting acting since now she will have duties as a member of the royal family. Therefore, the 36-year-old actress took one of the most crucial decisions in her life – she refused to continue working on the popular TV series Suits.
The show brought Markle worldwide fame and became one of the most successful projects in her career. Season 7 will be the last in which we will see Rachel Zane (Meghan’s character). And what is even sadder, her screen husband Patrick J. Adams will reportedly depart the series and focus on new projects too.
Even despite having to give up career, it's obvious that Megan's New Year wishes came true. Now, she certainly will not swear and will look after her manicure.
