Return Of 'Roseanne': Twists, New Characters, Original Cast, And Other Things To Expect

Date January 10, 2018

It was one of the most popular TV series that topped numerous ratings in the 80s and 90s. Nowadays, Roseanne ranks 35th on IMDb list of the greatest TV shows. It was nominated for Emmy for more than twenty times and, actually, won it four times. No wonder, the series has a lot of fans all over the country, and now, they’re all delighted because it will be back on ABC in 2018!

Unexpected return

Last year, it became known that there would be another season of the series, 30 years after its original launch. For the fans' joy, the original cast will return on screen.

On March 27, 2018, we will have an opportunity to enjoy the performance of Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, and other actors once again.

Original series

Roseanne is a classic sitcom that revolves around the typical US family of five living in a small town. Although it is a comedy, it actually tackled a number of serious subjects that were even considered taboo at that time, including contraception, homosexuality, and abortion.

The characters' honest conversations and amazing sense of humor were, perhaps, the key to the enormous success.

What to expect?

In the tenth season, there will be some revelations and new twists, although it seems like not much has changed with time.

In fact, it reveals that some events of the previous season were nothing else but fiction written as Roseanne’s memoir. Particularly, Dan is surprisingly not dead!

There will be also new additions to the original cast, such as Emma Rose Kenney, who will call Dan and Roseanne grandparents. Their family has clearly grown in 20 years.

However, some things remained the same. For instance, the show admirers will be pleased to listen to the iconic theme song and enjoy the interaction between two sisters.
