Making other people feel loved, cherished, and appreciated has become so out-of-the-ordinary nowadays. But it’s so important to make others feel noticed and valued. And a simple act of kindness has a power of changing someone’s life. What is more important, it works both ways. According to a licensed clinical psychologist, Sarah Schewitz, PsyD.:

It feels good to do something nice for someone. It boosts your self-esteem, it makes you feel like a better person, and it can help you overcome any negative feelings you are experiencing in the moment.

This mother, Jessica Everett Byrd, could prove that like no one else. Her daughter, Eliza, is diagnosed with Spina Bifida; it means the kid can’t walk. On a festive Easter day, they went egg hunting but came home with nothing as other kids were faster than their girl.

After that, the family took a trip to the zoo where a great man, Cody Reed, found the last egg hidden there and gave it to Eliza. He suggested Eliza should turn it in and get a prize the zoo offers.

You can imagine the shock and the tears of Jessica, especially after the disappointing egg hunt they had had before. She says:

My faith in humanity was restored with this cheap, plastic egg.

Stacey Skrysak shares another touching story about her family having fun and delicious meal at a pub. Out-of-a-sudden, they realized their bill was paid by a stranger. It’s hard to describe her feelings for such an act of kindness.

Let’s just make sure we do our best to have as many of such moments as possible! It’s up to us!
