Tom  Selleck is an amazing actor, husband, and father. We know him by his excelent performances in numerous movies and TV series. But success came to him not that easy, and he would have done a lot of other stuff before he'd found his one love and the job of his life.

Mustache forever

Tom and his legendary mustache have been famous for years and still keep on doing this. His contract for “Blue Bloods” has banned him from shaving the mustache, so we are going to enjoy his iconic looks in the near future.

Army man

He attended university on a basketball scholarship, tried himself as a model, and acquired a degree in Business Administration. During his studies, he was a member of a college drama club, and after his coach saw a great potential in Tom, he talked him into trying an acting career. The coach was right, and Selleck got several acting jobs in commercials. But it wasn’t the big break yet because as unexpected as it sounds, Tom went to the US Army and served there in 1967-1973. He’s a sergeant, and let’s be frank, the uniform suits him.

“I am a veteran, I’m proud of it, I was a sergeant in the U.S. Army infantry, National Guard, Vietnam era. We’re all brothers and sisters in that sense,” once said Selleck.

Another Indiana Jones

It’s been a while since his return to America until he got his first big role as the famed private investigator Thomas Magnum. It launched his career to such heights that Steven Spielberg wanted him to play Indiana Jones in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” but Tom had to turn down this offer because his "Magnum P.I." contract was still on.

Besides being a successful actor, Tom's been happily married to Jillie Mack for 30 years. But the interesting fact is that Selleck participated as a contestant in “The Dating Game” when he was young.
