After five seasons, it’s time for the family, who are expecting their fifth addition, to end this phase of life and begin a new one.
Behind-the-scenes secrets we are just finding out about
Did you ever wonder how Chip and Joanna Gaines pulled it all off? We are aware that she is a design goddess and he’s a genius in construction. But how do they always turn the house that’s falling down into the most gorgeous home on the block?
There’s a lot the average viewer doesn’t know about Chip and Joanna Gaines. Below, check out the juiciest behind-the-scenes secrets from Fixer Upper.
1. The house-hunting scenes are staged.
Usually, the couple begins each episode by showing their clients potential properties for their house transformation. Though, it turns out clients typically acquire a home before the show even starts filming.
2. The home isn't always finished when filming ends.
Each episode ends with a big reveal of the renovated home. Reports show that when the cameras stop rolling, the Magnolia team still has to take care of last-minute details, inspections, and more.
3. Chip is not into heavy lifting as you'd think.
Often, Chip is seen kicking down walls on the show, but he evidently doesn't do much physical labor when the cameras stop rolling.
4. The reactions and conversations aren't scripted, but certain scenes need to be reshot.
Rachel Whyte, a Waco-based photographer who was featured on the show, said the producers made her and her husband, Luke, "repeat things a few times."
5. Nope. The furniture is not free.
Jaime and Kyle from the show said they bought a coffee table, two striped chairs, and a dining table.
6. Chip is always cracking jokes.
Chip is as funny in real life as he is on the show. Apparently, he spends so much time making everyone laugh that most of his scenes are edited out.
Life after "Fixer Upper"
Chip and Joanna have said goodbye to their fans after five seasons of renovating homes on TV, but there are still ways to connect with the couple and their brand.
Joanna plans to take advantage of her fifth pregnancy and indulge in her favorite activities: napping and eating. She also has a new cookbook out in April, "Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering."
Ahhh!!! Seeing my actual cookbook for the first time today and I just can't believe it. I could cry. Ok maybe I did cry a little. Thankful for the amazing team that helped turned this dream into a reality. It will be available April 24 or you can preorder at https://magno.li/tablecookbook. #imhungry #magnoliatable
The couple is expanding their family with a new kitten and an English Mastiff pup named Brindley. They also have plans to add a children's line to their Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line at Target. Asides the couple's new restaurant, Magnolia Table, their construction company will still be in business.
We are delighted about the news of the Fixer Upper couple’s fifth pregnancy and sad that the show has to end. But where something ends, something new begins.
