Barbara Bush Is Buried Next To The Daughter She Lost To Cancer 65 Years Ago

The matriarch of the Bush family passed on at 92 after opting out of medical treatment for congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

She is buried next to Robin

Her burial had taken place at St. Martin's Church, in Houston, before she was laid to rest in College Station next to her daughter, Robin, who died of leukemia, aged 3.


During her lifetime, Barbara Bush was known to say that her late daughter, who died in 1953, was an angel to her.

One of the Bush granddaughters, Jenna Bush Hager, shared an emotional art work which showed Barbara Bush reuniting with her daughter. She captioned it:

A Message from George H.W. Bush

Her death has been most deeply felt by her husband, George H.W. Bush, who she was married to for 73 years. He was by her side when she passed on.

In response to the outpouring of love the family received, his office released a statement in which he fondly referred to her as 'The Enforcer' and assured well wishers that the family was drawing strength from their love they had received.
