Sometimes, there's only one member of a family who is skilled and passionate enough for acting to make it big in Hollywood. Then, there are those times where it just seems like the acting gene runs in the family.
But the best situations are when two siblings decide to start acting career, and they both emerge successfully. Let us celebrate some of these superstar siblings.
1. Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts
While Eric already wanted a future in acting at a very young age, his younger sister, Julia, was not entirely sure. Eric's acting career began when he was only five as a member of a local theatre company known as Actors and Writers Workshop.
Julia, on the other hand, wanted to become a veterinarian, but later, she studied journalism. She began to consider acting after she was inspired by her brother's success in the industry.
2. Mark Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg
Mark decided to ditch his career as a teen pop idol to become an actor. It ended up paying off as he was later nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars for his role in The Departed (2006). Donnie held on to his pop persona a little longer until he made his big-screen debut in Bullet (1996).
3. John Cusack and Joan Cusack
Not only do these siblings love acting, they also enjoy working together. The brother-sister acting duo has worked on 10 movies together from Sixteen Candles (1984) to War, Inc. (2008).
4. Rob Lowe and Chad Lowe
Rob was a teenager when he ventured into acting. He has been a cast of such popular series as The West Wing and Brothers and Sisters. Chad, on the other hand, has captured the affection of fans who have seen him in ER, 24, Pretty Little Liars, and a number of other series.
5. Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck
Ben and Casey are the only children born to Timothy Affleck and Chris Anne Boldt. They both kicked off their acting careers together when they were younger. The two have been very supportive of each other's successes.
6. Jake Gyllenhaal and Maggie Gyllenhaal
Between the two of them, they have starred in over 50 films. But they also seem to enjoy being fellow cast members. The brother-sister acting duo starred together in Homegrown, Donnie Darko, and A Dangerous Woman.
7. Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson
Owen and Luke Wilson are quite passionate about acting. Even though they do their own thing most of the time, they have appeared together in such movies as Around the World in 80 Days and The Wendell Baker Story.
While this is by no means an exhaustive list of all super talented siblings in Hollywood, these seven are our favorites. Their love for each other and their dedication to acting have garnered them thousands of fans over the years.
