But their fascinating love story ended suddenly when June passed away in 2003. Her death completely devastated Johnny, and after four months, he followed his beloved June to the grave. Some people say that the legendary singer died of a broken heart.

The most romantic letter of all time

Even years after their death, the fascinating love story of Johnny and June continues to live. Over the decades of their marriage, the spouses have exchanged hundreds of romantic letters and notes. And one of these letters was recently dubbed “the most romantic letter of all time.”

According to a 2015's poll, people named a letter Johnny wrote to June back in 1994 the most romantic note ever. It was written for June's 65th birthday. The words from this letter are one more proof of the strength and depth of the feelings these two had for each other.

You still fascinate and inspire me. You influence me for the better. You're the object of my desire, the #1 Earthly reason for my existence.

These lines are truly romantic and heartwarming, aren't they? And they were written at the time Johnny and June had been married for over 25 years!
