Mark Wahlberg Donates The Paycheck For The Reshoot Of His Latest Movie To Time's Up Legal Defense Fund

Date January 16, 2018

In light of the recent Time's Up! movement, Mark Wahlberg has decided to join the fight against the wage gap. For this reason, he is giving up his fee for All The Money In The World and donating the money to the cause in the name of his co-star Michelle Williams.

Ridley Scott's 'All the money in the world'

The most recent movie from the famous director has been under the spotlight but not because of its greatness. It first came to the attention of press after the need to reshoot the film because Scott had decided to replace Kevin Spacey because of sexual assault allegations.

After the crew agreed to make that move, Wahlberg was given another million dollars, whereas his co-worker Michelle Williams got a measly $80 per day. The worst part is that Williams is, in fact, the leading role in the movie about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III.

Mark is giving a total of $1.5 million while his agency William Morris Endeavor is adding another $500.000 to make it two million dollars. Both of the donations are made in the name of Williams as the actor feels that Hollywood is not fair and equal when it comes to wages. Mark Wahlberg commented on the whole thing for The Hollywood Reporter:

Over the last few days, my reshoot fee for 'All the Money in the World' has become an important topic of conversation. I 100 percent support the fight for fair pay and I’m donating the $1.5 million to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams' name.

What an incredible feat that was done by the Hollywood actor. We hope that the entire film industry will finally put an end to chauvinism and make way for an equal, healthy environment.
