Michael Douglas shocked the media by his recent announcement on his Facebook page. The Oscar-winning actor wrote:

This is an important article I’d like my friends to read.

In his interview, Douglas revealed about what did happen with his former female employee 30 years ago. The woman claims that Douglas used “colorful language” in her presence and ruined her career in the entertainment industry. In his turn, the actor defended himself saying:

As far as using colorful language in front her, I apologize. None of it was directed at her; she didn’t say it was.

This accusation was obviously very painful not just for Michael but also for his beloved wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. The actress opened up that her husband is a strong supporter of #MeToo movement, despite all allegations of inappropriate behavior.

When asked about the allegations against Douglas, Catherine said his announcement spoke for itself. The actress said she was glad that Michael did his statement which was very personal for him. She added:

My reaction was that as two people who have been in this business - him longer than me - was that we support 'Me Too' and the movement more than anybody, anybody - me as a woman, him as a man.

In his turn, Douglas said he is most upset that the whole thing affected his loving family.

The part that hurt the worst is having to share something like this to your wife and your children.

Catherine and Michael call themselves devoted supporters of #MeToo campaign. The actress says she is really proud to observe significant changes which take place in the modern society.

As for Michael, Catherine adds she will support him during this hard period: “We can’t ask everyone else to be kind to us unless we’re kind to each other.”
