‘Beverly Hills, 90210’: Where Are The Actors Of This Popular Teen Series Now?
27 years ago, the first episode of the most popular TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 appeared on the screens. Actually, this show has laid a foundation for other teen series afterwards. It focuses on the main problems that worry all teenagers, such as relationships with parents and friends, first love, family secrets, and even the problem of drug addiction and early pregnancy.
90210 has become extremely popular far beyond the borders of one country; people of different age still admire this sitcom as it doesn’t lose its relevance even now. But most fans wonder what’s happened to the actors of the worldwide favorite soap after so many years. Where is the cast of the iconic Beverly Hills now?
Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh)
Shannen became the first actress who left the project. The reason for this was her quarrel with Aaron Spelling. Doherty is known for her hot temper; in fact, the actress managed to have a fight with almost everyone from the cast.
However, Spelling decided to give Doherty a second chance when he proposed her the role of a witch in his new series Charmed. Shannen stayed in the project for three seasons, but again, her troubled temper let her down, and Doherty was asked to leave the show. Shannen has two unsuccessful marriages. In 2011, the actress got married for the third time. Three years ago, Doherty was diagnosed with cancer, but fortunately, in May 2017, she announced she had a remission.
Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh)
Jason played in the sitcom for nine seasons. After he left Beverly Hills, 90210, the actor discovered his new passion for cars and race. Once, Priestley even got into an accident, but luckily, he completely recovered. Jason appeared in several soaps, where he had supporting roles. He was also a host of Saturday Night Live show.
Today, the actor lives happily with his second wife and has two wonderful kids. Starting from 2015, Priestley plays in the comedy-drama series Private Eyes.
Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor)
Garth is one of the cast members who played in 90210 for all ten seasons. After Beverly Hills, the actress appeared in several other comedy sitcoms, including What I Like About You where she co-starred with Amanda Bynes. Garth also appeared in the first season of 90210 New Generation, where she reprised her favorite character Kelly Taylor.
In 2007, Jennie participated in the popular TV show Dancing With the Stars. Now, the actress has a loving husband and three beautiful daughters. Her last movie appearance was in 2016 in the bittersweet story A Time To Dance.
Tori Spelling (Donna Martin)
Tori got the role in the iconic Beverly Hills due to her father and famous producer, Aaron Spelling. Like Jennie Garth, Tori played in the sitcom for all ten seasons. After 90210, the actress had a number of supporting roles in the movies, but critics say her main career achievement will always remain her role of Donna Martin.
In 2004, Tori married to Charlie Shanian, but after two years, the couple divorced. In 2006, Spelling married to Dean McDermott; they have five children. Tori didn’t reach success as an actress, but in 2009, she released her autobiographical book “True Tori”, which was included in the best-selling list of the year.
Brian Austin Green (David Silver)
Brian was considered the main playboy of the set. He had loving affairs with Tori Spelling, Tiffany Amber Thiessen, and Vanessa Marcil. Brian even married to Vanessa, but their marriage didn’t last long. The couple has a son. In 2010, Green married Transformers’ star, Megan Fox. They have two sons.
After Beverly Hills, Brian appeared in several other sitcoms, including Desperate Housewives and Smallville, but finally, the actor understood he is more interested in the out-of-stage career. Today, Green is an owner of two production companies "Shen Productions" and "Brian Austin Green Productions".
Luke Perry (Dylan McKay)
Luke Perry has ups and downs in his acting career. After playing Dylan in Beverly Hills, the actor was on the peak of his popularity, but then, there were dozens of unsuccessful auditions. Perry had supporting roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; in 2016, he appeared in the film Love in Paradise. The actor was married for ten years, but in 2003, he divorced. Luke has a joint custody of his two children.
Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders)
Just like Tori Spelling and Luke Perry, Ian couldn’t separate himself from the role of Steve Sanders in the iconic sitcom. The actor made his appearance in several TV series like Married …with Children or CSI: NY, where he had supporting parts. In 2013, Ziering finally got the leading role in the movie Sharknado and a number of its sequels afterwards.
In 1997, Ian married to a Playboy model, but after five years, the couple divorced. Today, the actor lives in a happy marriage with his wife Erin; they have two wonderful daughters.
Beverly Hills, 90210 deserves its status of the most popular teen series. In fact, even after 27 years, the sitcom has lots of devoted fans. And the actors, who played in the iconic soap, will always remain true idols for millions of teens and adults around the world.
