Date December 15, 2017

There’s going to be a lot of black dresses on the red carpet at Golden Globe Awards 2018. The most famous Hollywood actresses make a deal to wear such a color as a sign of a protest against sexual harassment.

Hollywood women’s ‘black’ solidarity

We can say 2018 is definitely the year of powerful women. And here is one more fact that proves women’s solidarity when it comes to mutual compassion and support. Hollywood women announce they are going to wear black gowns at the Golden Globe’s official ceremony in January 2018.

This decision can be explained by the overall protest against sexual harassment. As we know, this serious problem raised public attention during this year when a lot of Hollywood women accused Harvey Weinstein and other famous men of ‘inappropriate behavior’ and assault.

Among the women who have already confirmed their ‘black solidarity’ at Golden Globe 2018 are Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Stone, Julia Roberts, and many others. At the moment, it’s not clear whether the men will join this ‘black trend'.

Women’s global protest against sexual harassment has turned into the most significant female movement called “The Silence Breakers.” In fact, its impact on the global minds has reached such enormous level that Time magazine even proclaimed “The Silent Breakers” its Person of the Year for 2017.

Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on January 7th, 2018. We already wait to see the most beautiful and outstanding actresses wearing gorgeous black gowns. It’s great when all women have banded together for mutual solidarity.
