Unfortunately, due to the unfortunate diagnosis of osteosarcoma in 2010, she had to sacrifice her right leg to save her precious life.

Luckily, Brenna didn’t become dispirited. A month later she has received her first prosthetic leg and consequently found a new passion for the sport – snowboarding. Moreover, she found even more inspiration when she gave birth to her daughter. With all this, Brenna was ready to conquer the Paralympic Games in PyeongChang 2018.

First amputee model

When the gorgeous athlete was invited to pose for the cover of 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue she was definitely shocked, but accepted the invitation immediately:

I wanted it to be done right. I wanted to represent women with disabilities the right way.

For the photoshoot, she had to change her common snowy slopes for the sandy beach in Aruba. Her life was full of different challenges, and the photo session for the magazine is perhaps the most intriguing one.

Her colleagues (also disabled) have all approved her choice to become a part-time model. For Brenna that was as important as the support of her family that she also immediately received.

Body importance

Brenna confesses that she struggled a lot during her teenage period. Losing her leg has definitely influenced how she perceived the life, so she is determined to pass her experience to the most important person in her life – her daughter Lilah.

She claims she will explain that the body is so much more than something to look at. We are really happy for Brenna and her progress in her career. We wish her to achieve new tops in sports and get even stronger in the private life.
