True-Hearted Love Story Of Gerald And Betty Ford
Passionate relationships between Gerald and Betty Ford will forever serve as a perfect example of eternal love.
The Ford family
A young Navy lieutenant, Mr. Ford Jr., was working as a lawyer when in 1947, his friend introduced charming Betty Bloomer to him.
The love quickly rose between the two, and soon, in October 1948, they got married just two weeks before Gerald was elected to Congress for his first term. Later on, the happy couple moved to Washington D.C. where Mr. Ford served as a member of the House of Representatives for 25 years.
The Ford family had four marvelous children that they were brought up together during the 58-year marriage. On August 9, 1974, Betty claimed to have the saddest day in her life – the day when Gerald was elected to be president.
Mrs. Ford had already been a public person, fighting for the equality of women’s rights, but after that, she became even more influential.
Gerald has always supported her in everything she would start doing, showing great respect to his wife, and at the same time, received mutual treatment from Betty:
I wasn’t above using pillow talk at the end of the day, when I figured he was most tired and vulnerable.
Tribute to the deceased
On December 26, 2006, Gerald Ford died on his Rancho Mirage in California.
That was a terrible strike for Betty, however, she was strong enough to live through this unfortunate event.
The tribute that was paid to the 38th president showed unbelievable respect from the most influential people of the country, including George Bush, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and of course, his beloved wife, Betty.
