Big Bump For Happy Mom: Kate Middleton Has Much Bigger Belly Than During Her Last Two Pregnancies

Date March 21, 2018

Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their third child the next month. However, the public has noticed some changes throughout all three pregnancy periods of the Duchess of Cambridge – her bump is now much bigger than it was at the same period during her previous pregnancies.

Pregnancy traditions

The royal family prefers to live according to the established traditions. All the life aspects are considered when following the rules of the Buckingham Palace. The pregnancy is not an exclusion as well. Kate Middleton is going to welcome the third baby quite soon, and she has to follow some unique traditions to please the Queen.

First and foremost, Elizabeth II will be the first one to find out about the birth of a child. Only after Her Majesty is aware of the kid, the town crier will bring the news to the public. Even Prince William will not be allowed to enter the birthing room to see the baby first. Even though the traditions are strange, Kate will go through them for the third time. However, this time, something is different.

Reason for a big bump

The case is in Kate’s bump. It looks much bigger than it used to be during the first and the second pregnancy periods. What might it be? Unpleasant condition? Twins? The answer is simple and quite understandable.

Aly Dilks, the clinical director at the women's health clinic, explains the reason why Kate’s belly differs throughout the pregnancies. It turns out that the more babies the woman had, the bigger bump she will get during the next pregnancy:

During your first pregnancy, the body uses hormones to make changes to accommodate the baby. As your rib cage widens and your uterus expands, it can take time to establish a real bump.

As we know, it is already the third time the Duchess of Cambridge will become a mother, so no wonder that her belly is bigger now. According to Aly Dilks:

By the second pregnancy, the rib cage has already widened giving the uterus plenty of time to expand and baby to pop more quickly.

Adorable similarity

Despite the difference in bump size, there are also some similarities, and one is too unique not to share.

During the Commonwealth Day church service at Westminster Abbey, Kate Middleton wore exactly the same outfit she had worn three years ago, while being pregnant with Princess Charlotte: The wonderful coat is the adaptation of the label’s Chiara style and comes from the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. Kate simply adores it.

We are reminding that the royal family will welcome the baby just a week before the most awaited wedding of 2018 between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Ladies and gentlemen, we will have a rich May this year.
